The services of Learning Seaman
Being aware of the unique living and working conditions of seafarers and their demanding working environment, as well as the opportunities offered by technology, we created the Learning Seaman platform in order to accommodate your needs in the best possible way. Learning Seaman is the first and best lifelong e-learning platform dedicated to seafarers.
Our primary consideration and principal objective in Learning Seaman is to create an e-learning platform dedicated to the mental health and wellbeing of seafarers on board. In this context, the Learning Seaman platform offers seafarers the possibility, upon registration to its services, to attend free online courses suited to their preferences and interests while on board.
Attending courses offered through the Learning Seaman platform has many advantages. Learning Seaman is an “all-in-one” platform, which offers concise and intelligible courses from a wide variety of topics, which are constantly updated. Our goal is to provide seafarers with a tool to spend creatively their leisure time on board, to develop new skills and to read in a distraction-free environment. The Learning Seaman platform is fully adjusted to the connectivity limitations on board as well as to seafarers’ living and working conditions on board.

How the Learning Seaman platform works
The Learning Seaman platform offers registered users the possibility to attend free online courses suited to their preferences and interests while on board. Once registered users have completed their registration in the Learning Seaman platform and log in to their account, they can select their preferred course from a wide variety of topics, including but not limited to Wellness & Development, Art, Nutrition & Health, History, Biographies, Classical studies, Interviews and Upcycling. We reserve the right to modify, rearrange and enrich the content of the service and its topics at any time. We reserve the right to make unavailable in the future certain modules previously available on the service. On the page of each online course offered through the Learning Seaman platform, the full name and a short bio of the instructor of the respective course is included in order to facilitate the selection of the online course that is suitable for each registered user.
The online courses offered through the Learning Seaman platform have a maximum duration (reading time) of four (4) hours and can be read remotely by registered users and at their own pace. Upon completion of a course offered through the Learning Seaman platform, a Certificate of Completion is issued with the full name of the registered user, the course attended and the date of completion, which the registered user can view, print or save on his/her device. The profile of each registered user of the Learning Seaman platform is stored until their next contract.
In addition, on our website users are given the opportunity to contact us for any questions they may have while navigating our website, as well as in case they have questions about using the Learning Seaman platform services or they experience technical difficulties in their attempt to use our platform.
